My latest movie crush is "Frances Ha"directed by Noah Baumbach, released this month on DVD. I fell under the spell of Frances, a young American women, her character reminds me of the TV show "Girls", and I love the fact Brooklyn is such a big part of the story. I loved the black and white aesthetic, the freshness of the script. Many will find similarities with Woody Allen or Cassavetes movies.
Greta Gerwig is co-writer (I first saw her in the fantastic independent film Greenberg starring Ben Stiller) and embodies with incredible talent the main character. She plays a young woman, a little bit lost and who has difficulties to move into the adult world. I loved her acting, a bit on edge with a lot of melancholy and humor.
My Advice, go see this movie asap!
